Exhilaration in Nature

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I love Penny Black's Brushstroke Stamps and this new to me one is no exception.

I put the stamp in my MISTI and inked it up with Distress Ink and Markers.

First I inked the whole stamp with Antique Linen Distress ink.
I find that having a light base makes it easier to add color.  I'm not sure why, but there's
probably a very good scientific reason.  I'm a trial and error type and that's just been my findings.

I cleaned the stamp off and inked the different areas with different color
Distress Markers and used a damp waterbrush to move the color.

To add a soft wash, I pulled some color from the flowers.  To add more color, I
swiped on a palette and picked up the color so it would be light.

After die cutting the piece with this pretty frame, I added some splatters.
Thankfully the splatters cooperated!

Boom! Ready to mail.

SOOOOOO pretty Bonnie!! Love your idea of using the Antique Linen ink first and then adding your colors...I am so going to try that!! Love the light wash around your beautiful flowers too and that frame totally pulls it all together! Lovely, lovely card! Hugs. :0)

This is a very pretty Brushstrokes PB stamp and love the colours with the yellowy orange toned flowers and the darker more olive green leaves and stems, and a great sentiment too with a very lovely font Bonnie. x

I love Penny Black stamps too, but could never make them look as beautiful as you do Bonnie. This card is gorgeous! I love the soft summery wash in the background and the splatters. I feel like I can smell these blossoms. That is a beautiful frame you used too. Hugs, Brenda

That's such a beautiful spray of flowers, Bonnie, and a gorgeous application of color. Love the subtle framing. I've got a lot of catching up to do after being away camping for a few days. It might be hopeless!

This will make a wonderful showcase of PB products, Bonnie! Your flowers are so pretty and the shade of the orange color goes so well with the brownish green. The pretty leaf frame is perfect to echo the leaves.
Thank you so much for sharing your findings. I will remember to ink a stamp with Antique Linen first. :-)

I love your aqurels, they are so light and romantic. I love how you moved the color from flowers to background. It looks very artsy. And the splatters look wonderful too. How often my splatters broke the whole card. You used it in perfect proportion
