A Sketch for Jingle Belles

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I struggle with sketch challenges, but in this case I persevered and came up
with not one but two cards that passed muster.

I found this banner and some snippets of foiled paper in my stash.  I'm not sure where the banner
came from or what the stamp is, but it worked great!

I die cut the ornament from
a piece of the foiled paper and added it to hang from the banner.

I added everything to the foil embossed vellum and added glue behind the pieces
and some of the dots.

The next photo shows the shine. Put on your sunglasses!

I wasn't sure how it would photograph (you know how foil is), so I die another card using
this sketch.

I pulled out a NBUS mistletoe die and used the print making technique that
added color to a background as I watercolored the die cut.

The berries are embossed with clear thick Utee embossing powder and the sprig
dangles from a sentiment die that's also NBUS.

I added a snippet of embossed cardstock for the vertical strip.  I think I could
have used a piece of plain cardstock as well.

Here's the sketch..
Challenges:
Jingle Belles  - Merry Sketchmas
CAS Mix Up - Print Making with Die-cuts (Must use watercoloring)
NBUS #24 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Foil makes everything so elegant and that's what that is. The ornament is just beautiful. Did you stamp on it or was it like that with the swirl? Gorgeous. I love the mistletoe card. You did great following the sketch.

Such a classy and shiny first card and love the fabulous design of the second. Same sketch but so different and they both are fabulous Bonnie x.

I've been looking at that sketch and not coming up with anything Bonnie so I take my hat off to your TWO takes on it! Love the elegance of the first (and don't you just love it when you find something in the snippets box that is just right?!) and the more painterly feel of the second. Vicky x

Two beautiful Christmas cards using the sketch Bonnie! LOVE that gorgeous patterned strip of gold for your first card. The foiling on the ornament and vellum backing are just so pretty. Lots of shine on this gorgeous card. Your mistletoe card is so pretty with the prints in the background. Looks like it's a full bouquet of mistletoe! xx

FABULOUS cards Bonnie!! That foil is SO pretty and I love the close up photograph where you can really see the shine!! Your mistletoe card is absolutely beautiful too, and you know I get a bit jealous when I see you using the print making technique!! I have to tell you though that I persevered this weekend with that technique and I actually have a card to submit for the CAS Mix Up challenge later this week! Lovely, lovely cards my friend...you rocked the sketch challenge!! Hugs. :0)

Love both cards, your foil embossed card is so elegant and your die cut is so pretty. I have UTEE but never think to use it :)

Bonnie, I love them both - hard to photograph or not, that foiled paper just gets me!! SU needs to reintroduce that vellum to the shop, don't you think? xx

How in the world did all these people get here before I did - I know it is later in the morning but NOT that late.
I think it must be hard for you to stop your creative juices. You do seem to come up with more designs all the time. Your design is so unique but at the same time delightful - and done in gold foil! Now that is what I call eye candy.
Your second card uses several techniques, as if you didn't know. I do love both of your cards but that comes as no surprise to me.

Your persistence paid off Bonnie, these are beautiful cards! I love the foiling on the first one, love that banner too. You made the sketch look better in my opinion! Your second card is so cool with your print technique, love that mistletoe die. But it is the first card that I'm totally in love with. Hugs, Brenda

Two big Bonnie cards. This sketch turns out to be perfect for holiday cards. They both look stunning. The first one has amazing gilded scraps and the brilliance is really dazzling. The second is so beautiful with its watercolor cut mistletoe twigs. I also love this MERRY sentiment. Thank you for so much inspiration
hugs,

Two fantastic seasonal makes Bonnie and love all the shimmer on the paper and the bauble and splatters, and then the second watercoloured die cut mistletoe with the print of it in the background and love the kraft card sentiment plate holding the sprig in place. x

Two very different cards for that sketch - both equally lovely. The foiled papers on the first one are gorgeous - such an elegant and sophisticated card. And the die cut print making technique worked beautifully for the background on the second card.

Oh, wow, great use of the sketch while still keeping it kinda CAS! Your first card looks entirely different in the second photo. Foil is a bear to photograph, but it actually looks really pretty in the first photo, too. More of your awesome print making with the mistletoe on card #2. You do that so well!

You have an extraordinary talent for design! These are wonderful Christmas cards. Not sure I could design with just designer paper but you created a beautiful card. Love the mistletoe with the ghosted background too.

Love the gold shine on the "sunglasses requirement" photo, so much mouvement in this beauty.
The holly is special too with the print making technique.

Both cards are fantastic, Bonnie! You used the same sketch for them, but they look very different. The shine from the foil is gorgeous and you captured it so well in the close-up.
The print making background for the mistletoe card is artsy and makes you feel like you're looking at the shadow of the mistletoe in the snow. Your card designs are always wonderful so I can't believe you're saying you struggle with sketch challenges!

The gold flourish on the ornament is so elegant, Bonnie, and I love that patterned paper. What a gorgeous card! I have that mistletoe die and will have to try the print making with it. I know how much you love that technique and you always make it look so beautiful.
