I was excited to see that the Power Poppy blog has resumed it's card challenge!
It's called The Blossom Challenge and the very talented Christine is hosting
and she's asking for May Flowers.
Peonies bloom in May around here. I have a few peonies in my yard, but since
the yard has become so shady, they don't do well. However, one plant that's in front of my
bedroom window had five blooms this year.
I wish the pink ones bloomed like these!

Oh, Bonnie, don't we wish they bloomed perpetually? I hope it's sometimes cool enough to enjoy the fragrance of that beauty through an open window. I'm seeing LOTS of buds on ours this year - that cool Spring is working its charm.

This is just beautiful, Bonnie. I love how soft and real it looks. We had a pink bush in our yard and it was pretty. I remember all the ants that were on the flowers when my mom picked a bouquet and brought it in the house. As a kid, that impressed me so much that she would bring ants in the house when I couldn't bring bugs in. Different rules for adults!
Your no-line Peonies are GORGEOUS Bonnie and I'm loving how you framed them too! My neighbor just shared a few of her pink Peonies with me the other day and I have been enjoying them so much in a large mason jar on my kitchen windowsill...it's the little things that bring so much JOY!! Hugs. :0)

I have one peony in my garden that should be blooming by now but it is so abnormally cool and wet this spring that it (and everything else) is way behind. Love your beautiful pink one on the card - wonderful shading in the petals and leaves, and great framing.

They're in bloom here, too, but not in my garden. I tried to grow them, but too cool and shady. Now that we had a tree blow down it might be different. Bonnie, I am loving the extra touches you put into this card, the frame, the texture of the layer below the frame outside your lovely colored peonies and the bit of hot pink under that layer. Simply gorgeous.

This is fabulous, Bonnie! Love the beautiful shades of colors of the flowers and leaves, and some spots uncolored for highlights. The framing is wonderful as always, and the thin Sweet Sugarplum matte works beautifully to tie the flowers to the background.

Beautiful watercoloured peony made even better with your amazing design. Love that frame and sponging in the background to reallyy show off the pretty in pink flower. I had only one bloom on my peopy plant this year. We have had a lot of rain so I'm sure that is part of the problem. I still enjoyed seeing the one bloom, which is so pretty. Peonies are one of the prettiest garden blooms as shown in your card. xx
Your peony card is just gorgeous Bonnie! I love peonies and have one plant. It blooms beautifully.....until the winds roll through destroying all the blooms. Every year. Makes me so sad...I need to learn to cut them and bring them inside or at least a few. My neighbor has a few bushes as well and theirs suffer the same fate. Your white peonies are so pretty, mine as a deep pink. My neighbor has cut his back already, guess I'd better get on mine too. lol Hugs, Brenda

You brilliantly used this frame to create a window for this peony. It's hard not to repeat yourself saying that watercolor is your very forte. I love your watercolor paintings, they are so unique and special.
