For Baby

There's a sweet baby on the way
to a very special couple.

Congratulations, Lesley and Corey.

I couldn't be happier that you are soon going to be welcoming
a new little bundle of wonderful!

Lori is having a blog hop honoring the happy couple
and this special little miss.

Here's my hopper.

Actually, it's a waddler not a hopper!

The image was stamped with Memento black and colored with Copic Markers.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Merry Monday Mistletoe

It's Merry Monday time.

Can you believe it's the last day of March?

Time is flying by!  I'm so glad I've got a good start on my Christmas Cards.

Debbie chose our challenge this week.

I pulled out an old favorite stamp set, Cardinal Christmas.

This mistletoe was underused

I stamped the image in Sahara Sand and colored it by swiping markers on a plastic lid and picking up the ink with a blender pen.

The berries were colored with my White Gel Pen leaving a dot in the center of the berries and dotting with a Soft Suede marker.

The embossed label was in the snippet pile and so was the bow.

I swiped a Sahara Sand marker on my plastic lid and picked up color with the blender pen to lightly outline the design giving it more dimension.

The background card was stamped with the mistletoe stamp from the retired Easy Events.
I used VersaMark ink to stamp the background.

Be sure to go over to Merry Monday and check out the Design Team cards.
They are amazing!

So glad you stopped by.

Enjoy!

For Baby

I needed some baby cards for my stash.  I love this little baby duck and even though he's retired, I inked him up.

Less is More is asking for NEW BABY cards this week.

CASology's cue word is

The small white panel is a stark contrast against the darker background.

Addicted to CAS  has a code word
This will go for a new baby.

Addicted to Stamps is having a CAS week and this is definitely CAS.

That's quite a few challenges for this one itty, bitty card!

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Easy Events
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento), SU Markers (Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Tangerine Tango)
Paper:  Gumball Green, Snippet of Watercolor Paper (?), Whisper White (inside)
Other: Candy Dots

The snow is nearly gone but it was nice while it lasted.  If you had to get out and shovel, my condolences.  It's so much easier to enjoy when you're sitting inside and just looking out!

Thanks so much for the visit.

Enjoy!

Baby Duck

DD told me last week that several of her friends are expecting babies.  This will come in handy when she raids my stash for cards.

CAS on Sunday is calling for BABY CARDS this week.

Pixies Crafty Workshop is always looking for cards with snippets.  This little stamp is perfect for using snippets.

And here's another that I did while I was at it.  Just in case one is a girl.

This stamp is a NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff).  It's a shame that the set was retired before I ever used this stamp.  I think it will stay on my shelf.  It's a quick and easy baby card.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Stamp: Easy Events
Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper: Whisper White, Tangerine Tango (card 1), Daffodil Delight (card 2)

More Red, White and Blue, with Green

It seems like there are a lot of challenges out there this week wanting red, white and blue.

ColorQ stepped it up with 2 shades of blue and added a green.  I"m lovin' these bright colors.

I used Linda Callahan's fantastic sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

Yesterday I had one of those stamping days we all hate.  Nothing seemed to go right! Ink smudged, punching didn't line up, card pieces stuck in the wrong place and wouldn't be budged.  I know we all have those days sometimes.  Aren't they frustrating?  Despite all that, I finished this card.  But don't look too close, OK?  And I won't even tell you what I discovered on the back of the card.  I'm not sure how I'll disguise that!

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Bright Blossoms, Easy Events
Ink:  Island Indigo, SU Markers (Real Red, Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise)
Paper:  Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Island Indigo
Other:  Color Spritzer Tool, Scallop Trim Corner and Border Punches, Big Shot, Square Lattice EF, Adorning Accents Edgelit & EF, Tempting Turquoise Grosgrain Ribbon.

I'm so glad you could stop by and spend a few minutes.

Enjoy!

Hurrah for the Red, White and Blue

I haven't been keeping up with the challenges very well the last week or so.  I've been wanting to, but life keeps getting in the way.  Ah! At least I have a life and I'm thankful for that.

Anyway, last night, I snuck away and did not just one, but two cards.  It was fun too!

This one is for a friend, who was chosen for a full time position at the library where I used to work.  I'm so delighted for her and for the library.  They're a perfect match!

The layout is from retrosketch this week.  I tipped it over though.  I really love the simplicity of these sketches and wish I could play every week.

For card number 2, I used the WT377 challenge at SCS last week to use the negative of a die or punch.  I punched this flower with the new Blossom punch and attached a piece of that bright and beautiful  Summer Smooches DSP behind it.

This will go to my friend whose birthday is Independence Day.  I love having a red, white and blue card to give her.

The challenges for both of these cards are...
Dynamic Duos  to use Real Red and Island Indigo
Less is More  to use Red, White and Blue in honor of the Queen's Jubilee
Paper Players  where Jaydee challenged us

Wow! I got a lot of challenges out of these two cards.  Usually I don't combine many challenge.  Considering my lack of stamping time lately, it was nice that all these challenges fell into place.

Two fer Merry Monday

I wasn't sure I'd get to do a card this week for Lesley's Merry Monday.  But I finally got time with the stamps and did two.

This is the first one I did.

Here's the sketch.

I saw a door with a wreath.  But I didn't use all the layers so I did another.

This one sticks close to the sketch.  I used embossing on the different layers so I could keep the white space.  The berries are painted with White Shimmer Paint.  I'm not sure you can see the shimmer in the picture.

All supplies are Stampin' up! (unless otherwise noted)

Card Recipe (card 1)
Stamps:  Welcome Christmas
Ink:  Garden Green
Paper:  Naturals White, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Other:  5/16" Jumbo Neutral Brad, Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details, Simply Scored, Non SU Cord  and Corner Rounder Punch

Card Recipe (card 2)
Stamps:  Easy Events
Ink:  Jet Black StazOn, Stampin' Up! Marker (Old Olive)
Paper:  Whisper White, Old Olive
Other:  Frost White Shimmer Paint, Small Oval, Large Scallop Circle, 2 1/2" Circle, Scallop Border Punches, Big Shot, Square Lattice and Stripes EF, Retired Ribbon (still available on the Clearance Rack I think.  See my side bar.)

I can't wait to get over to Always Playing with Paper and seeing what the others contributed this week.

Thanks for stopping by.  I love your visits.

Enjoy!

Fun Colors

The ColourQ colors caught my eye this week and since I don't have any events to prepare for, I was free to play.  This is what I came up with.

I love these bright Springy colors!

Aren't they beautiful?  I love that basket!

I stamped the little flowers from the Easy Events set with Jet Black StazOn and colored them with SU markers. I used the Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Pastel for the background and sponged with the Nesties die still on the circle.

I've adhered Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon on a scrap of DSP for the strip behind the design.  The butterflies are from the Kindness Matters set, colored with SU Markers and cut out.  The blue one is Tempting Turquoise but looks more blue in this photo.

I used the layout from retrosketches.  It's a new sketch challenge hosted by Arielle who also hosts colourQ.  This is the sketch this week.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

I hope you'll check out both of these challenges for some great inspiration.

This week has gone by so fast.  I need to get my Christmas card done for the Merry Monday challenge.

Another Merry Monday

I've done another card for this week's Merry Monday challenge.  Want to take a look?

I stamped a border with the mistletoe stamp from the Easy Events stamp set then colored the leaves and berries with markers.  Then I double matted it and tied it up with a bow.

My Bird Builder punch hadn't had any love in quite a while and using it was like finding an old friend.  The body of the bird was punched from Real Red. Then I stamped the bird from the retired Hostess set, Punch Potpourri, with Craft white ink and punched the wings from that.

The sentiment is also retired.  I believe the set was Small Script.

Here's the sketch again in case you missed it last time.

Stampin' Up! supplies

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Easy Events, Punch Potpourri, Small Script
Ink:  Jet Black StazOn, Whisper White Craft, SU Markers (Garden Green, Real Red)
Paper:  Whisper White, Garden Green, Real Red
Other:  Bird Builder Punch, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Pearl

We looked out the door yesterday evening and it looked so smoky that we thought there was a house on fire in the neighborhood.  But we didn't smell any smoke.  We realized that it was a cloud of pollen and rushed to make sure all the windows were shut tightly.  This morning everything had a thick yellow coat.  It is messy but a small price to pay to see the green on the trees and the flowers blooming.

I'm so happy you stopped by.  Thank you so much for leaving me comments so I can visit you too.

Enjoy!

Not Quite Christmas

I have something to share with you today.  The stamped image was among those I was madly stamping the week before Christmas.  I decided that this would work for a Christmas thank you.  I haven't decided whether to stamp a small Thanks and punch it out to add to the front or just leave it blank and write my thanks inside.

This was so quick and easy!  I stamped the holly on a scrap of Whisper White and colored it in with markers.  Then I placed it in the Designer Frames Oval Embossing Folder and ran it through the Big Shot and used my Paper Snips to cut the oval out.  I had a large white oval on the table and discovered it was a perfect fit behind the frame.  The little bow is attached with a glue dot.  Layered it on a Snow Burst panel, then Real Red on a Whisper White card.

I really love this little image.  Now I need to try the others in this set.

All Supplies Stampin' Up!

Ink:  Jet Black StazOn, SU Markers (Garden Green, Real Red)
Paper:  Real Red, Whisper White
Other:  Big Shot, Snow Burst EF, Designer Frames EF, Ovals Bigz Die, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine

It's been another quiet day here.  I even got some sewing projects taken care of.  It's nice to be caught up... in that quarter anyway.  Tomorrow the boys will be back and all the excitement that comes with them.

I'm so glad you stopped by.

Enjoy!

Mistletoe or Holly

Hi there.  I managed 20 minutes of time in my craft room before Jack decided he just had to join me.  That was hours ago, and I've finally got this card finished and ready to share.

I believe this is supposed to be mistletoe.  But around here, there is an ornamental holly that has similar leaves and red berries.  So I took a little creative license and used the red berries.  They show up so much better.

I even added some Dazzling Details to give it a frosty look.

The layout is from this card that Denise did and it's the CAS challenge this week on SCS.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Easy Events
Ink:  Jet Black StazOn, SU Markers (Garden Green, Real Red, Sahara Sand)
Paper:  Real Red, Whisper White, Garden Green
Other:  Scallop Border Punch, Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine, Snow Burst EF

Speaking of creative license.  Luke brought a Thanksgiving project home from preschool today.  It was his Thanksgiving turkey.  He pointed out that the leaf behind is his feathers and the yellow is his beak and can you spot both feet?  (I think Mr. Turkey was trying to run away and his feet slipped out from under him. LOL.)   Here's a peek at it.
I think Luke really liked those googly eyes!

I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

I'm so glad you stopped in for a peek.

Enjoy!
