Trees for Twofer

Hi there.  I'm glad you stopped by!

When I saw the Twofer Challenge for this month was trees, I thought it would be easy.

Deciding which tree stamp or die to use was more difficult than I thought!

I settled on a old and retired Stampin' Up! stamp.

It hadn't seen ink in a long time.

This first card evolved over several days.

I stamped the top of the tree upside down at the top of a piece of card front.

Or it could have been the side.....

I ended up making it the top and stamping this sweet birdhouse.

Stampin' Up! Markers provided the color for the flowers and the rest was
colored with watercolor pencils.

I used a lmake up brush to add a bit of Distress ink all around then
die cut this Whittle Bird and added some color to him.

I knew I wanted to use this stamp with some Flower Soft that I found on a clearance
table over a year ago.

The full tree was stamped on mixed media paper using Stampin' Up! markers
for color.  I added the grass and sky by swiping Distress ink from the inkpad
onto my palette and picking up with my waterbrush.

When it was all dry and mounted, I added the Flower Soft with some Tacky Glue.
I love the texture this adds!

WOW...these are both SOOOO pretty Bonnie!! I'm loving how you used the tree at the top of your first card and that little bird house and birdie are just the sweetest! Your 2nd card is just as pretty with all the warm Autumnal tones and that flower soft is so cool looking! (Think I had some of that stuff at some point but don't know if I ever used it...oh brother!!) Lovely, lovely cards my friend and thanks so much for sharing with us at The Twofer Challenge!! :0)

Two fabulous trees on these Twofers, and love the full tree with the bright fall colours using the flowersoft, and then the birdhouse with the sweet little bird hanging from just the branches, so pretty. x

Your Flower Soft tree is beautiful. I could never get it to stick to my cards. I love that sweet little bird house and tiny little bird. Adorable card.

It's surprising how many tree stamps we find, isn't it, Bon?! This slim little number was a wonderful choice for your colorful fall thank you card and your sweet hello card for a friend! Gosh, I haven't used flower soft in dog's years and why not? It is amazing on your card! It was so clever of you to use the tree top for hanging your Scandanavian (?) bird house and whittle bird! Your coloring is perfect on both and I love how you place a little sumpin sumpin to your designs to add even more interest and depth! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #31! Keep well! Hugs, Dolly

Two very different but equally beautiful cards. I love both, the first for the freshness of that birdhouse scene and the second, so autumnal, with the dimensional appeal. Impressive! Great and fun cards. xx

Just WOW, Bonnie! Amazing use of that tree stamp to make two utterly fabulous cards. Love the Flower Soft effect. I still have some around here. You know I love the PB birdhouse set. The tree stamp makes wonderful overhead branches. Very fun!

Okay...so now I'm mad that I gave my sister this stamp set, lol!! Dang, these are gorgeous cards, Bonnie! I'm in love with the sweet birdhouse you've popped amidst the branches of this tree, and everything is colored perfectly! Darling bird! Love the little white branch you've added, too! That's a very sweet card. And your 'thankful' card...Oh. My. Gosh!!!! I might even love it more than your first card! Perfect background, perfect frame, perfect tree, and those flowersoft leaves... Perfect! Love these cards!! Thank you so much for joining us at The Twofer Challenge. (and if I might add a hug, I send you one of those too.) Stay safe. Bev

Your tree makes for lovely branches and I'm sure that cute little bird would agree! Oh I need to add Flower Soft back into my life! Your tree is at the height of color for the season, and I love how it's falling and on the ground! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge ;)

That flower soft makes the trees look so realistic, Bonnie. I love them!! And who wouldn't love that sweet bird looking for a new home.

Wow, wonderful twofers, Bonnie! I love that you used the tree stamp upside down for the first card. Your beautiful coloring and the texture & dimension of the Flower Soft bring this fall tree to life!

OMGosh Bonnie, I'm in love with both of your twofers! I have this same stamp set and forgot all about it until you brought it out for this play. It is a great set and I love how you used the tree. The using the top of the tree for foliage with the bird house is so pretty. The little bird house hangs perfectly out of the foliage. But the card that is my favorite is the fall scene! I love flower soft and forget about using it. I don't think I ever got the "fall" colored one like you have, but always wanted it. It made the perfect fall day on your card. Love your beautiful blue sky and your grass, then those fall "leaves". Love it! Perfect twofers for sure. Hugs, Brenda

The first card is a very interesting design, I would bet on twigs and not the upside down tree used for stamping. And the second card is just amazing. I love the leaves lying on the ground, you managed to show it so realistically
