Splendid Poppy Stems

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's been a busy month and I didn't think I'd get to some of my favorite challenges,
but I managed a bit of creative time after all.

The Memory Box Challenge this month is to use paint.
I love to watercolor and sometimes use watercolor paint as in the piece I die
cut these new to me pretty poppies from.  The stems are from a piece of dirty pour
done with acrylic paint.

I love the detail on these flowers!

It was pretty quick if you don't count that I had to try 4 (yes 4) times to
get that sentiment to come out.  White embossing on black can be tricky!

Challenges:
Memory Box Outside the Box - Paint
NBUS  - Never Before Used Schtuff

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Stamps:  Sentiment Strips (Alt)

This is lovely. White embossing is difficult on black paper......and red and brown. [Bunny]

I love the simplicity of this one and am so glad you persevered with the white embossed sentiment, well worth it xx

The black background emphasizes the contrast to the maximum. I also love these poppies and using watercolors to color them is a perfect solution. Watercolor and poppies are a perfect combination. Your white sentiment on black looks perfect. But I understand, because I often have white "freckles" around the embossing. I have a way - I use the black marker to cover the unwanted elements :-)

Yes embossing white onto black is tricky but you nailed it Bonnie and I love the drama of those pretty flowers on the black. A striking card x.

Are you warming up? SO beautiful, Bonnie! What a gorgeous way to water color this sweet Poppy! LOVE it on the black card base!
It's helpful to remember: just when you think you've added enough anti-static powder, add more, when heat embossing on black!

The poppies do have a pretty detail Bonnie and I love the shades that occur when you cut out of watercoloured paper. What patience you have doing the sentiment four times! I love the look of white embossing on black but rarely have the patience for it! Vicky x

Fantastic contrast between the black dry embossed frame background and the pretty watercoloured piece you used to die cut the poppies Bonnie. I love the white on black sentiment too. x

Beautiful, and I love that you used watercolor and dirty pour for your precious flowers! And yes -- embossing on black is very tricky, but you pulled it off

Beautiful CAS design Bonnie. LOVE how these pretty pink poppies really pop against the dramatic black background. I don't know how many times I have redone white embossing on black sentiments. xx

This is stunning and dramatic, Bonnie! The poppies look even prettier with the black background. The details of the flower and the pattern on the stems are so beautiful. I know what you mean about the white embossing powder on dark cardstock! It was worth redoing 4 times. Looks clean and perfect! :-)
