Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
A while back my friend Marcia did this fabulous post that got me all fired up
to try the technique.
Warning! It's hard to stop at one!
The technique is simple. Use your 3D embossing folder to emboss a piece
of foil cardstock. Take a sanding block and lightly sand off some of the shine on
the raised design. You can cut the A2 card front sized foil in half and get a
second card. Here's a link to Jennifer McGuire's video showing the technique.
Using the other half of the embossing.
Had to try it with this fantastic blue foil.
So then I had to go shopping for some more 3D Embossing Folders so
I could share this technique with friends.
Barb's cards
Carolyn's cards
Jan's card
Linda's cards
Then Nance came to play. You can see one of her cards here.
And I'm not through yet! More to come.

Oooh, these are fabulous! This is a technique that I’ll definitely be trying……gorgeous cards x
Wow, so many gorgeous cards. I saw Marcia's post on the cards she made and I have been wanted to try this with the pretty foils. Thanks for sharing your beauties.
Wow, gorgeous 3D embossed foil cards, Bonnie! Sanding off some of the shine adds so much to the foil panels! Love the designs especially with the white die-cut elements. You got me fired up to try the technique as Marcia did to you. :-)
Looks like you had a great craft session with your friends!

Wow! What a feast for the eyes! The foil is so gorgeous. Brilliant to cut into two for twofers.
What a magnificent array of brilliant cards using this sanded foil technique, Bon! I've just had time to do a play this evening and it certainly is addicting! Can't wait for our Zoom to see what everyone has made ... I'll have paper and pen handy for my shopping list, lol! Hugs, Dolly

Oh Bonnie...I'm so glad you tried this technique and had so much fun doing it too!! And I know just how addicting it can be...I had to buy a few new 3D embossing folders too, and of course some more foil cardstock!! Your cards are absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and your friends are too! I need to send out the ones I made so I have an excuse to make some more now after seeing yours!! Haha!! Hugs. :0)
Wow Bonnie - how utterly gorgeous. As always, so, so elegant and professional. I ordered a UK made mistletoe folder just yesterday and you really have inspired me to lie in wait for the mail man! Purely for the mail delivery you understand!

Oh my gosh how great these are! Love a card that comes together easily and LOVE your technique of sanding foil. I must get some colored foil for this! These are just so beautiful. That first one though is my favorite- so very fancy!
These are all gorgeous, Bonnie! Looking forward to trying it in time for our next Zoom get together!
Stunning work using the technique Bonnie - I have been sanding white core card this afternoon... even that is addictive :)

I love all your samples with this technique. Looks like you had a fun time rolling with it. I learn so much from Jennifer McGuire. So happy you played along with Krafty Chicks Challenge this week.

Beautifully done, Bonnie. So many gorgeous cards. I might have to give the technique a try...gotta find the paper first...
Are you going to make me buy foil now? Yesterday I cleared out some of my old embossing folders, but I can imagine it filling right back up again. The 3D take up so much more room, sigh. You have some gorgeous folders and you all made incredible cards! These are WOW, Bonnie! I love doing the sanding, but on foil is a whole other beautiful thing!
Wow...Stunning 3D dry embossing backgrounds using foil...which I have in several different colors...lol! LOVED all your card designs and your friends cards. Oh my...I feel a new technique coming on...LOL!!! TFS my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy
WOW what a stunning effect and I can see why you couldn't stop Bonnie....The embossing folders and all the cards sure look amazing x.
Thank you Bonnie for leaving such a kind and friendly comment on my recent blog post....I really do appreciate it x.
They look fantastic! I can see why you were addicted!
I can't wait to get home to my stash of foil. These are gorgeous, Bonnie. I did see Jennifer's video and Marcia's card but I never get tired of seeing what beautiful cards this technique makes. I recently got an embossing folder that would be perfect for this and just ordered another one that will work well too.
These are all so gorgeous Bonnie! I never thought to sand foil papers that were 3D embossed. I love the look! Especially in all the different colors. So fun, so gorgeous and so elegant! Hugs, Brenda
NO, NO, NO! I am not going to buy anymore stuff or gadgets to make cards. But Bonnie, you are making it very hard for me to say no to the embossed foil cards.
