Another Eagle Has Landed

Seize the Birthday is for the guys this week.  Here's the sketch we're using.

I'm still going with the Eagle theme from last week.

Quick and easy.  My favorite kind.

The eagle was already stamped on Shimmery White.  I used the big white insert from the 12" x 12" DSP packs for the card base.  It's nice and heavy and a perfect match for the Shimmery White.

And it used some snippets so I'm off to Pixie's Crafty Workshop to play at the playground.  It looks like it's pretty cold there so we'll need to bundle up.

All supplies are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted

Card Recipe
Stamps:  In Wilderness, Short and Sweet (both retired)
Ink:  Jet Black StazOn, Midnight Muse
Paper:  Shimmery White, Real Red, Print Poetry DSP, Insert from DSP pack for card base
Other: Zig Zag EF (Cuttlebug)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Enjoy!

Featuring Connie and the Veterans

I had a few stars leftover from the card I posted the other day and being  inspired by Connie (aka Stamp300), who is the Featured Stamper at SCS this week, I put them together like this.

This didn't make it into the packet for the Honor Flight.  But I think my Dad will love it and he's a Veteran of WWII too.

The CASology challenge this week is

I looked up the meaning of extraterrestrial since I didn't have any space people in my collection.  Here's what Wikipedia has to say about it.  Extraterrestrial may refer to any object or being beyond (extra-) the planet Earth (terrestrial). It is derived from the Latin Root extra ("outside", "outwards") and terrestris ("earthly", "of or relating to the Earth").

I think stars would qualify.  Maybe.

I think I can take these snippets over to Pixie's Crafty Workshop to share with the fun folks there.  She's offering a really pretty stamp for a prize and maybe a second entry will be the lucky one.

Here is another card I sent for the Honor Flight.  The eagle was stamped with a retired SU set that my friend brought to a Stamp & Share when we were doing cards for the guys.

I used the sketch from the SCS Sketch Challenge last week.

Birthday Wolf

My SIL has a birthday coming up and I think I have the perfect card for him.

A few months back I stamped some images from the, now retired, In Wilderness set that my friend has.  When I was trying to think of a card for SIL I thought of this.  He's a graduate of NC State and their mascot is a wolf.  NC State Wolfpack colors are red and white.  I think he'll like this card.

I used LeAnne's sketch from Paper Players this week.

My image was the perfect size and shape for this. Thanks LeAnne!
