Gingerbread Snowflake

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time to start on my Christmas card stash for this year.
I do enjoy making Christmas cards when I'm not in a rush.

I pulled out an older and well loved gingerbread boy stamp and die.

He was stamped on kraft cardstock with heat embossed "icing".

He's popped on an embossed snowflake and I thought it would be fun for him
to hold a candy cane.

While I had him out, I stamped and die cut another and added him to a snippet piece
of patterned paper.

This time I used my pinpoint snowflake plate for the background and
some tiny resin hearts for his buttons.

Challenges:
Peace on Earth #31 - I was inspired by the top left photo in the mood board.  See that little gingerbread man with his candy cane?

Blue Butterfly

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I LOVE these 3D embossing folders!

This is one that's on sale at Altenew and found it's way into my cart.
I'm so glad it did.

I wiped the inside of the folder with a wet babywipe before embossing and got
a nice deep impression.

I'm on my quest to use the beautiful nature sets from Wplus9 that I bought
last year.  Unfortunately I don't have the magic in my fingers or brushes that
Dawn has.  The butterflies from this set were pretty easy though.

I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Coloring was done with Distress Markers.  When dry, I sprayed with Shimmering Bliss
spray that I bought years ago at a craft show.  This guy really shimmers when
the light hits him.

I used the smaller butterfly in the set on the inside and they are winging
their way to a dear friend who is dealing with health issues right now.

Challenges:
NBUS #46 (Never Before Used Schtuff) - Embossing Folder

Flowers for Color Hues

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I didn't get to craft for a couple of weeks and the rust set in.
It's taken a while to feel at home in the studio again.

I treated myself to some Wplus9 stamps late last year and for Christmas
and I am determined to use them before they sit any longer.

I've been working with the bird from this set and I'm not able to get anywhere
near Dawn's wonderful looks.  So I thought I'd give the flowers a try.

I stamped them in gold and heat embossed then colored with a Distress Marker
and my waterbrush.

To add a little more gold, I used an embossing pen to color the leaves and
added some gold heat embossing to them.

The love die was another Christmas present and was cut from gold foil
and stacked on two layers of white scrap card.

Once I had the design die cut for a slimline card (Monarch size), I thought
the corners needed a little something.  So I did some partial embossing with a
3D embossing folder.

Here's a picture that shows the shine better.

Challenges:
Color Hues #55 - Light Pink & Gold (congratulations to the new team members)
NBUS #46 - Never Before Used Schtuff (stamp and die)

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Flora & Fauna 3 (Wplus9)
Ink:   Encore Gold, Spun Sugar (DM)
Paper:   Mixed Media (Strathmore), Pink Pirouette (SU), Neenah Solar White
Other:  Gold EP, Let's Have a Word - Love (Greetery), Doily 3D EF (TH), Gold Beads (SK)

Enjoy!

Pepperberry Thanks

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This is on the way to a sweet friend not only to thank her for her generosity
but to bring back memories of a fun time together playing with this set.

It's also a thank you to all of you who sent beautiful Christmas cards over the holidays
and who visit my blog and leave such encouraging comments. Hopefully my friend won't
mind sharing this with you.

The die cut has been colored with Tombow Markers with some help from my
Real Red Stampin Up marker.

I'm sad that they've discontinued Distress Markers.  The Tombows act differently
and are taking some getting used to.

Can You Handle the Pressure:  ATG with embossing, no option

Card Recipe
Stamps: Sketched Flowers (SSS)
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black
Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Black, Mixed Media (Strathmore)

Turning the Page January 2023

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Happy New Year!

Time to turn the page on our calendars to a new year.

I make calendars each year for my desk and my family.

I thought I'd set up a regular post each month to share them.

I hope you enjoy my “Turning the Page” posts.

Here's our January page using the Brilliance stamp from Penny Black.

By the way, the calendars are clipped together and can be displayed on an easel
or hung on a push pin or magnetic hook.  We all have a different way to display them.

If you would like a word document with the calendar, email me (bonklass(at)gmail(dot)com.
and I will be glad to send it to you so you can design your own.

If your email address is not in your profile, I have no way to send this to you.

Email link is in my profile on the sidebar.

Enjoy!
