I've been working on this little card for a few days here and there
between preparing for a class and spending time with Jack.
I had been eyeing this Technique Tuesday stamp set for quite a while and bought it
when they had a fantastic sale just before Christmas. I was helping Santa do his shopping (wink).
It was calling to me and I just had to take some time out to ink it up.
Since it always made me think of daffodils, I inked the flowers with a
yellow Distress marker and stamped, Moved the ink with a damp waterbrush and
re-stamped until I was happy with it. Then I inked the stems using the same technique.
I stamped the flowers on a snippet of watercolor paper again and when dry,
cut them with the coordinating die. I used a shaping tool to get some
curl to the petals. You can see this technique here.
For the centers of the flowers, I swiped the marker on my palette, picked up
color with the waterbrush and painted it on some of that snippet. When it was dry, I
used a little scalloped circle punch to punch out my circles. I ran the marker around
the edges and shaped it into a cup.
I added the shaped flowers over the original stamped ones.
Since this stamp was new to me, I'm taking my card over to
and I'll add this to the gallery at
Unfortunately Technique Tuesday has retired this stamp and die, but I think
you may still be able to find it at some of the stamp stores.
Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.
Enjoy!

What a great looking spring card -- makes me cheerful to look at it, particularly with this cold snap upon us. Love the way you used the die and a punch for the flowers over top the stamp...lots of dimension and interest!
Great die cut and water coloured flowers Bonnie, beautiful card.

These bright yellow cards you're making are making me so happy! This is lovely and the dimension just pops right off the card. I love how you do the water coloring.
I suspect you were inspired by the daffodils beginning to bloom in your garden, Bonnie. I love the wonderful dimension you created. Thanks for sharing your card with us at The Flower Challenge.
Incredible dimensions, Bonnie. It looks so real. Beautiful watercolouring. Beautiful card. xx
Being my favourite flower, I have to admit to it looking like a daffodil or even a narcissus, a FABULOUS sunny card Bonnie.

Your 3-D effect on your daffodil is outstanding, Bonnie. It made id so special. Love the watercolor effects as well as the soft wash in your background. Beautifully done.
Although I have lived in Scotland for over 25years Bonnie, my home is in Wales, so I am always going to love the daffodil as it is our National Flower. Boy do I love your daffodils. So beautifully water coloured and love the slight dimension on them and it was good of you to help Santa out x. One Beautiful card x.
Stunning card Bonnie! It makes me smile:)
so pretty Bonnie, makes me want Spring right now but that's a fleeting thought since they just shut down my city again for the big storm that is coming. I just wish I was off so I could get some cardmaking time.
