Stencil and Brusho

Hi.  It's taken me almost all month to get a card ready for
CAS Stencil.

I finally had some success using the Brushos with a stencil.
I've lost count of how many times I've tried this technique and failed.
One thing I learned is to just smoosh the failed pieces in more diluted Brushos
for use in die cuts or backgrounds.  Waste not want not as the saying goes.

I've used Cobalt Blue Brusho Crystals sprinkled lightly over this
beautiful Sanna Lippert stencil from Stamplorations.

I spritzed liberally with some water and let it sit for a few seconds.
(I think I wasn't letting it sit long enough before.)  Then I carefully
lifted the stencil and was excited to see a clean design! Yay!

I quickly pressed the inky stencil on another piece of cardstock for a monoprint.

I decided to go dramatic and use a piece of dry embossed blue as my "white space".

The dragonfly was die cut from a last little piece of heated copper that
my dear friend Loll had sent me.

A piece of copper foil cardstock made a perfect little mat around the design.

Here's a card I made with the monoprint piece.

Glad you persevered because both these cards are gorgoeus. I LOVE the bright colours of your stenciled flowers. So pretty paired with the sweet copper dragonfly. The copper framing ties it all together. Your monoprint is so soft and beautiful. Great way to use the partial print to make a beautiful CAS design with lots of impact from the deep blue card front. Great work my friend! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Stencil! xx

Both cards are just beautiful, Bonnie. What a great idea to get two cards from one monoprint. Love that you used just a panel of it, something I have to remember. Both are so clean and classy looking!

I'm glad you kept trying because this card is beautiful and has a lovely, clean image. I love the monoprint so much. It is soft and makes a gorgeous background for the white die cut. The copper dragonfly is wonderful too.

Both cards look very artsy and creative. Love the SU Pacific Point card base with the texture plate impression. And the SU Square Lattice EF to set off the graceful fern die on the second card.

Two beautiful blue and white cards (my favourite colour combination!). Your stenciling with brushos turned out perfectly - love the first one with the bright blue card base and the striking contrast of the copper mat and dragonfly! And great use of the monoprint on the second card.

Wow Bonnie! You stuck with it and you won! I love the image you got with that beautiful blue brusho color. So stunning is your card, loving that beautiful copper butterfly! Love your "white" space too using that beautiful embossing folder. Your second card is equally stunning! I love the look you got with your background piece that maybe wasn't perfect for you, it looks stunning as a background piece! I love that leaves die and this embossing folder is always a fun one to use. I adore both of these cards my friend! Hugs, Brenda

Way to persevere, Bonnie! Your cards are beautiful. I especially love the softness of your monoprint. I have no luck with powdered inks and have given up... but you may have possibly inspired me to try again. xx

Absolutely Gorgeous Stenciled Blue Brushos positive image, Bonnie. This stencil is one of my favorites too. Your gold narrow frame and heated copper dragonfly with perfect embellishments for your beauty.

I am so pleased you joined us at CAS Stencil Card Challenge and STAMPlorations CAS Card Challenge with optional color twist: Cerulean Blue.

I also loved your 2nd card with the monoprint Brushos image and your blue dry embossed "white" space. TFS both your beauties, my friend. Hugs..Nancy

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has trouble with this technique, Bonnie. It takes the right amount of water and the right wait time to get a good first stencil image and then a monoprint. It looks like you found the balance because both of these cards are lovely.
