Twofer Dog/Cat Reminder

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Sadly, this is the last post for The Twofer Challenge.
It's been a fun four years!
Thank you Darnell.

Darnell has also decided to add a couple of prizes for winners of a random draw.

(Be sure to have two different designs to be eligible.  Explanation is at the challenge site.)

I've used a NBUS Lavinia stamp for both of my cards.

First up...

I watched this fantastic video by Tracey and just had to try the technique.

I did an alcohol ink background on Yupo, squeezed some alcohol lift solution on top,
and brayered it over the whole piece.  Then I laid a piece of cardstock on top and
pressed it down.  When I lifted I had a beautiful print background that was a bit
darker than I wanted.

So I squirted some more alcohol life on the Yupo, brayered and pulled another piece.

(I found that this technique works well with alcohol ink backgrounds in my stash too.)

I used some VersaFine Clair ink to stamp flowers and VersaFine Onyx Black
for Mooch (the cat) and the little butterfly.  The ground was sponged with more
VersaFine Clair.

For my Twofer....

Halloween is coming all too soon.

This time I used a background piece from my stash that was done with
paper towel transfer in a nice orange and yellow.

I sponged some Hickory Smoke around the edge and followed with
Black Soot on the outer edges.

Mooch was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black and so were the trees that
were a birthday gift from a sweet friend.

I had added a circle mask before I sponged to place a moon on the design
and used a NBUS flying witch die cut to the moon for Mooch to gaze at.

A piece of alcohol ink from my stash worked great for a thin frame and
die cut Beware.

You have until the 24th to join in our last challenge.

I sure hope to see your Twofer cards in the gallery!

What fabulous cards Bonnie - love the AI background and that sounds like a fabulous way to get more for your money by pulling prints off the original piece.
Stay safe

Brilliant, Bonnie! Both cards are outstanding and the backgrounds blow me away. So many things a person can do with backgrounds! Love Mooch whether he's captivated by a butterfly or a flying witch. Totally fabulous! I'm super happy that you shared your Halloween card with us at Two Old Bats!

Wow, Bonnie, I just want to CASE every card you make! What works of art these are! Now I can't wait to try that technique you described for your beautiful first card. Can you come out here and stay for, oh, three months sometime and teach me your tricks? The details on your Halloween card are amazing! That's a decoration that someone will treasure and bring out year-after-year. Thank you, my friend, for closing out this great Twofer Card Challenge run with these inspiring reminder designs! Love, Dolly

What Darnell said above! LOL
These are both such fun and beautiful cards and a perfect example of how to stretch our stamps into making all kinds of cards! I just love the spooky night scene of the Halloween card and the lovely sentiment and background on the song/music card! Two delightful creations, and I will miss your Twofers in the future!

Both cards are amazing, but I fell in love with the first card without memory. The black base and black silhouettes create a wonderful mood of horror :-) A unique card and such an amazing entrance to the last Twofer challenge

Two wonderful cards, your Yupo background is so soft and dreamy. I need to try that one and I love the colours of your Halloween card ♥

Two lovely cards with that great Lavinia cat stamp. The first one is terrific with the AI background, the delicate flowers, and the butterfly right in the cat's line of vision. And what better for Halloween than a card featuring a black cat?!

Great minds think alike but my mind is slower. I'm using Mooch too and made a Halloween card too! I'm so behind this month but will finish up today, I hope. Your Halloween background is awesome and looks perfect for that card. Great design too. The background came out fantastic on your other card too.

Wow Bonnie - another amazing Twofer! Just adore that silhouette cat and how you've used her so differently on the two cards. Great Halloween scene in the circle on card one and the pretty summer flower scene on card two!!

Two fantastic cards Bonnie! LOVE the technique on your first card. I have saved that video and will definitely watch and give this a try! The background is gorgeous and so pretty with the flowers and butterfly. Looks like Mooch enjoying watching the butterfly flitting through the air.

I LOVE the black card with the eery night sky. The die-cuts are perfect paired with Mooch! Love, Lolly

I don't know how you found that video, Bonnie, but what a cool technique. I love the background you created with it but the other one is fabulous too. Both cards are delightful with that hairy cat the star of the show. Well I actually think the backgrounds are the star but. . . ;)

I think I love the black card most of all - I do know one thing, I absolutely adore your scruffy cat!

Your twofers are fabulous Bonnie! I am loving Mooch that you and Brenda used on your twofers. Your Halloween card is so classic, takes me take to when I was younger as these were the scenes we would see during Halloween. I love the background of your second card, and Mooch stands out so beautifully on it. I really love that sentiment too. Hugs, Brenda
