Dainty Leaves

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

We've been keeping an eye on Hurricane Ian and  Our hearts and prayers go out
to all those affected by the storm.

I've been wanting to do some leaves for the Altenew Inspiration Challenge
and finally got to it.  I think the challenge closes tomorrow.

This pretty leaf die had been sitting in my NBUS box for a few months.
It was past time to try it out.

There are two branches in the set and I cut them both twice from
watercolor paper.  To color them, I used three colors (shown below) from
my Altenew 36 pan set of watercolors.

While the leaves were drying I hunted down a background that I'd cut
when Bobby came to visit.  I'd managed to keep it pretty much intact with
some tape on the back. I love how it made such a pretty background for my
leaf bouquet!  It's now on my ever growing wishlist.

I've used some rolled glue dots behind some of the leaves and left other
leaves to stand out for lots of dimension.

Challenges:
Double D - Things That Fall
NBUS #42 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Gorgeous leaves and such pretty colours and absolutely perfect against that diamond shaped die cut background, and great that you left it intact..so different and so beautiful Bonnie, and the chocolate ink works well for the sentiment, also some pretty clear gems to finish. x

Such a pretty card - love the Autumn colors.
Looks like you are in for a lot of rain. We really got lucky here on our little island. Our yard is a mess from two days of really heavy winds. People on the gulf coast are really suffering.

Dainty leaves is a good name for that die, Bonnie, and your coloring of them is fabulous. I love how you left some of the pieces in the background die while leaving others out. I haven't used that since I let you cut some.

Stay safe as Ian heads into middle NC.

Love that background die and well done for keeping all the bits in place. That's always an achievement. Your watercoloring has made those leaves look really special xx

Gorgeous foliage, Bonnie! The colors of the leaves are just amazing!.
The diamond-shaped die-cut background is so stylish and I love you kept most of the die-cut-outs in the apertures.

Wow this is beautiful. Love your colorful and dainty leaves. That die cut background is perfect. I have it also but never thought of leaving it intact like you did. I will have to try that. Thanks for the inspiration.

WOW! Amazing delicate and so colorful bouquet of leaves, Bonnie! I love how you designed the background, leaving part of the openwork covered.
