Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I hope you had a lovely Easter.
My dear friend, Michele has joined the Design Team at Freshly Made Sketches.
I'm not much of a sketch person, but I'm joining in.
I usually don't have a layout in mind when I start a card. I have a stamp or die and
once I've done whatever I'm going to do with that, I decide how to lay it out.
For this card, I knew I wanted a white background and there was a new
embossing folder on my table, so I started with that.
I cut the embossed background on the diagonal, thinking I remembered the sketch.
Oops. So I embossed another, kept it whole and cut narrow strips to show the
sketch. I started with yellow strips to go along with the Color Throwdown,
but I decided I didn't like that and added a white strip over top with just a
smidge of the yellow showing.
I watercolored the flowers and tucked in a little yellow sequin flower between the layers.
Then I went to work putting the diagonal embossed piece on a card.
Another flower tucked in just fine and since the die has two flowers, I had a
home for that last flower.

Aww, Bonnie! Thank you so much for using our Sketch to create a card - you did great! [and believe me if you looked back at all the times I goofed up those Sketches - OY!]
LOve the white CAS-ness of both cards and how you've added the strip of paper over the cuts - so 'Jill Foster' and I love that - and those darling little blooms! Two truly lovely makes, my friend! x

Two beautiful cards, and a great way to use up two flowers imho! Love the painting, layout and subtle differences of both cards -- very sweet Spring cards, Bonnie.
Two absolutely beautiful cards Bonnie! I love the tiny bit of yellow behind the white strips on your 1st card, and the blooms are so dainty and beautifully colored! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Whether tucked or center stage those coral flowers are beautiful, Bonnie, and stand out against the wonderful embossing.
Truly pure and lovely!
Those flowers are so pretty. They look great on the embossed background. Great use of the sketch too. I always find sketches a challenge too xx
What a beautifully clean take on the sketch, Bonnie! I love the idea of using white as your base. And the second card is a clever way to use the extra piece and create another beauty!
Wow these are gorgeous! Fabulous texture and the pop of the orange flowers is perfect! Glad you joined us at FMS!
Two beautiful cards with those lovely coral flowers. I like the smidge of yellow under the strips on the first card and the yellow centers of the flowers. The second card is a great way to use the extra flower and the cut embossed panel.
Such a clean and beautiful card. I love the texture of the all white background and the flowers are just beautiful! Thanks for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.
This is beautiful Bonnie! I love the white embossed background and the flowers are fantastic! The colours are perfect! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
Yay for you doing FMS challenge! I wanted to play but the last 10 days have been something here. I'm so happy for Michele too. She truly deserves her spot. I like both of these layouts. The embossed backgrounds really make the blossoms pop.
Awww, those little flowers are so sweet and I love the embossing! It all worked out beautifully because now you have two wonderful cards! I love sketches, but I can never manage a challenge that only lasts a week. I like looking, though!
Those pretty little flowers look right at home on your newly embossed panels! Two pretty cards, Bonnie!
I'm not a sketch challenge person either, Bonnie, so I'm impressed to see you doing one of them. Love the way you did the diagonal lines with just a hint of yellow showing. Also love the flowers and the embossing folder you used.
What a great take on the sketch, Bon, especially using what was on your desk! (FMS should ask you to be a designer, too!) I love how you used that third sketch corner with the sweet poppy and leaves! Thank you for using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and motivating others and linking again to NBUS!📌 Hugs, Darnell
These are stunning!!!!
Super pretty card! Thanks for joining us for the Color Throwdown!
Beautiful Bonnie, the pop of colour against the white embossed background is so pretty. Great layouts ♥
LOVE your beautiful spring flowers! Great job of using the sketch for your first card. Love the little line of yellow peaking out from all the white. Your second card is just as beautiful as the first. Beautiful colouring of those flowers! xx
Two terrific cards and the first following the sketch brilliantly Bonnie, and I love the flowers so beautifully coloured and the background EF looks fabulous. The second looks so pretty too and I love the way you have tucked the flowers under the diagonal and added the lovely sentiment mat at the top. x
Gorgeous details, soft and pretty. :)
