Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
It's time for a new Color Hues Challenge.
This time our amazing Nancy has chosen Lilac and Aqua for us to play with.
At first these colors stumped me. Then I had an idea, and when I got started,
I went in a totally different direction. So much for ideas!
My lilac ink has more of a pinkish hue, so I had to add a darker purple to try to bring
it around. Fortunately we can use any hue of these colors.
I smooshed ink onto a palette to color the hummingbird. I also used it to do a wash
in the background and to add splatters. The flower was inked and stamped
more than once without reinking. Then I went over it with a wet brush to
give it a looser look.
While I was at it, I did another bird in these colors. Maybe you'll see that one later.
My super talented teammates are sure to inspire you with their fantastic
creations and we are joined this month by the equally talented Caroline.
I hope you'll check us out and join in at Color Hues.
The challenge ends April 29th at 9:00 AM EDT.

Your hummer is gorgeous! Love that you used the colors to show him off, the flower and background is gorgeous as well. You really know how to bring him alive!
I am really enjoying seeing all of your different backgrounds! I think I have told you this before - you have more ideas than Carter has liver pills!!
Sandy xx
You are making me very excited to see these little darlings return in May, Bonnie! [They only wish they could be as pretty as yours is today - but I love them anyway!] What a gorgeous card! Can't wait to see the other version!

Your inky background gave that lovely hummingbird a wonderful place to hover, Bonnie. It's such a great use of the color combination. I was stumped too but it's a good thing there is plenty of inspiration on the blog. ;)
Pretty hummingbird in lilac & aqua. I like how you did the background too. He is enjoying those lovely flowers. Looking forward to seeing another card with this hummingbird.
You are a watercolor guru, Bonnie! Your card is wonderful and that hummingbird is just beautiful. I don't know what direction you were headed but this path was the right one! Have a great Easter weekend!
Bonnie, you've made this hummingbird more beautiful than I could imagine! I adore the direction you went with this lovely, ethereal card!
Beautiful colour scheme and lovely card design. Love the background wash and splatters.
Oh my goodness, this is incredibly pretty! Well done, Bonnie!
You've used this color combo beautifully Bonnie and your hummer is just lovely! I can't wait for the real ones to come back to my yard!! I love your background too and all that loose water coloring! Beautiful, beautiful card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
You chose the perfect hues of lilac and aqua for your hummingbird and card. I love the soft wash of color and the repeat stamping of the flowers adds to the softness. Just so pretty!
Hmmm, yes, I know what you mean about ideas... Love how you have used the colours to make this almost ethereal card Bonnie, it's a beautiful result
Blessings

The colours have been used beautifully, I love your gorgeous card. x
This is so beautiful. I LOVE how you did the flower and the splatter. It makes me think I'm looking at it through the hazy, summer sun.
Thanks so much for your lovely comment xxx
Such a pretty background for your hummer to set against Bonnie. You are so lucky to have these beauties in your garden. :)
The hummer is so pretty in the CH challenge colours of lilac and aqua Bonnie, and the loose wash on the background and the flowers gives it a wonderful misty look, and also the more beige tone of the base card shows it off brilliantly. x
Such pretty colours and I love the soft background xx
Beautiful showcase of the colours with your hummmingbird, flowers and background. Such a pretty card...

I love how you've used the challenge colours Bonnie. Your smooshed and splattered background is so beautiful and your bird is so pretty! xx
Beautiful Bonnie, your humming bird and smooshed background are gorgeous ♥
I love your hummingbird in it's lilac and aqua glory. The washed background is such a soft added touch to accent him!
You achieved an incredible amount of depth in your ink smooshing. This is beyond fabulous!!! I need to revisit that technique. This is truly a work of art Bonnie.
Bonnie your card got a gasp from me, soo lovely and gorgeous and your watercolouring, as always, is a pleasure to see. Love the background you created and of course the hummingbird would want to visit!! We are waiting for out to arrive home again--hopefully soon!
Well, your final plan worked perfectly, Bonnie. The water coloring of both the hummer and the background is just delightful in these colors! It also made me excited for the warmer weather and hummingbird visits to come. Beautiful card!
