Joyful Echoes

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

This NBUS stamp is such fun.  I chose to have her belting out the
Happy Birthday song.  She could just as easily be excited about something
....or screaming in frustration.

I chose for her to sing today.

I've colored her with Ohuhu markers and used the die that I bought with her
and placed her on a background from my stash.  I'm not sure how I did that
background because there were no notes on it.

I looked and looked for a musical notes stamp or die in my stash, but couldn't
find one. I feel sure there is one there somewhere but the embossed music
will have to do this time.

I did another while she was out.

This time I colored with Zigs and used one of the sentiments that came with the set.
I'll set it aside for a friend's birthday.  I have a particular friend in mind that I think
this is perfect for.

Just Us Girls #765 - Die Week - Birthday
NBUS #72 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Ginkgo Blessings

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's been quiet on my blog.  Between life and preparing for a class,
there hasn't been much time to create for a challenge or just for fun.

After coloring this ginkgo as a possibility for the class and deciding to go in
another direction, I put it on a card instead of in the UFO pile.

It's very simple but will be good to send to a friend in the skilled nursing home
for this month. Maybe it will help her to enjoy St. Patrick's Day a little more.

I die cut the ginkgo from Neenah Solar White and colored with a finger dauber
and green ink.  I went over the stem with a Gold Sharpie.

The Modern Ovals dies are new to me and I do love the shape.  This embossing folder
is fairly new to me and the sentiment is ages old.

My dear friend Darnell has some I.D.E.A.S. to help us out of a slump and
she's added a linky at her blog so we can join her.

Challenges:
I.D.E.A.S. - Week one I is for ink
Double D - Going Green

AAA Cards #285 - ATG CAS
NBUS #72 - Never Before Used Schtuff (Modern Ovals Dies)

More Red Tulips

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

These Waffle Flower Tulips were a good investment.  I've had a lot of fun
with them.  You'll be seeing them again this Spring.

I used them for our March calendar page and had so much fun coloring them
with Copics.  But I wanted to try coloring them with Distress Re-inkers
like Jill Foster does for Penny Black.

The colors of the re-inkers are very intense and it took a bit to get used to
how much water to use with them.  I'll keep working with them.

I used one of Jill's sketches for this card too.

Challenges:
Double D  - The Color Red

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Tulips (WF), Birthday Strips (MFT)
Ink:   Memento Tuxedo Black, Whisper White
Paper:   Neenah Solar White, Mixed Media (Strathmore), Black
Other:  Distress re-inkers (Festive Berries, Barn Door, Mowed Lawn, Forest Moss), Classy Frames (PB), Pinewood Planks EF (SU), Spring Leaves Pierced Cover Plate (HB)Black Ultrafine Sharpie, White Gel Pen

Ginkgo and Pussy Willows

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

It's time for a new challenge at Color Hues.

This month, our creative Carol picked these colors...

These colors are perfect for the upcoming St. Patrick's day but sadly I
needed a sympathy card.  The ginkgo was a perfect fit for the green, and
Nance suggested pussy willows for the berry dies.  Both were die cut from Neenah
Solar White and colored with Copic markers.  The Pussy Willows were cut
from white felt for a fuzzy feel.

The very talented Design Team and our equally talented Guest Designer, Nance
have some beautiful cards to inspire you. Check them out then join us at
I can't wait to see what you can do with these colors!

This challenge is open until March 14th at 9:00 AM EST.
I hope to see you in the gallery.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Deepest Sympathy (HA)
Ink:   Garden Green
Paper: Neenah Solar White
Other:  Copics (G24, G28, E13, E23, E25), Sealed Ginkgo Dies (SB), Sylvan Berries Dies (Birch Press), Texture EF (PB), Felt

Enjoy!
