Rosebuds

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I had some die cut rosebuds left from my last class.

I colored these pink like we did in the class.

They were cut from mixed media paper.  We colored them using finger daubers to add
ink then touching with a damp watercolor brush.  It's a good way to get a watercolor look
for those that are hesitant to do watercoloring.

I added some splattering and added them over a stitched, die cut heart.

There were two more left...

I used the same technique to color them but used red ink instead of pink and
added them over a larger die cut heart.

The embossed backgrounds don't show up well in the photos, but it's there.

Two Frogs

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I've been having some fun with a NBUS stamp from Unity.

I did both a masculine and a feminine version.

First up the masculine version.  This was a take off of a card we did in my last class.

The frog is stamped and heat embossed with clear powder, then watercolored.

The navy piece is dry embossed.  It didn't want to show up well in the photo.
One side of it didn't emboss for some reason (user error, I'm sure) so I cut that
part off and added it green background.

Since I had another frog stamped, I decided to make a feminine version...

I stenciled some hearts in the background and added this one on a pink heart.
I gave him a crown cut from White and heat embossed with gold. I've added inside that
"you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince".  It goes to my teenage granddaughter.

Challenges:
Can You Handle the Pressure - I used the twist of something that begins with the letter F (Frog)
Just Us Girls #761 - Use a Die Cut Heart
NBUS #71= Never Before Used Schtuff
Stencil Fun - Use Stencils with option of pink or red

Card Recipe (card 1)
Stamps:  Feelin' Foggy (Unity)
Ink:   Versafine Clair Nocturne, Gumball Green (SU)
Paper: Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler, Mixed Media (Strathmore)

Christmas Hearts

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I have a NBUS stamp that got some use this week.

First I stamped on Black, heat embossed and filled some of the circles with gems.
A narrow gold mat finished was all it needed.

Then I stamped it on vanilla cardstock.  Same technique but a different look.  I added
a die cut bow to this one.

The cards are a bit larger than usual, 4 1/2" x 6 1/4"

With Valentine's Day coming up and being my turn to host our Craft Group, I did
a bit of surgery on the stamp and we did art work for the holiday.

Now which one should I share with these challenges?

Challenges:
ABC Christmas - Anything Christmas
Peace on Earth -  Heart
NBUS #71 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Big Bubble Heart (Woodware)
Ink:   Encore Gold
Paper:   Black (MFT), Vanilla (SU), Gold Foil, Red Foil
Other:  Gold EP, Gems (TH), Fit to Be Tied (Grtry)

Enjoy!

Krafty Heart

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm still working through my Valentine UFOs...

This week's Just Us Girls Challenge is to CASE a Designer and there were lots of
fantastic cards to choose from.  My UFO box yielded this krafty heart pair that I thought
would work to CASE my friend Bobby's card.  Here's what she did...

I have an embossed background and instead of a bear, I have a heart cut from
corrugated kraft and the red heart the bear is holding shows up in the die cut berries and
itty, bitty heart.

Challenges:
Just Us Girls #760 - CASE a Designer - My friend Bobby
Krafty Chicks #753 - Anything Goes

Card Recipe
Stamps: XOXO (?)
Ink:   Baked Brown Sugar
Paper:   Kraft, Neenah Solar White, Sparkle, Real Red, Corrugated
Other:  Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies (SU), Winterberry Sprigs Die (PS), Gold & Red Sharpies, Confetti Heart Border Punch, Plaid EF

Enjoy!
