Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
April 25th is ANZAC day in Australia and New Zealand.
It's a day to remember those "who served and died in all wars, conflict and
peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and
suffering of all those who have served". Wikipedia
I'd also like to honor those who are serving during this
COVID-19 pandemic so we can stay safe at home.
Poppies stand for remembrance
I place the poppy outline stamp in my MISTI and inked with Distress mini ink cubes
and markers, pulling the color with a waterbrush then restamping until I was happy with the results.
After stamping a second poppy, I masked the flower to stamp the third.
Finally, I did a wash using wet on wet technique and added some splatter.

Bonnie this is just beautiful... I love everything about it. Co-incidentally I've just made a poppy card to in Rememberance of the fallen as we celebrate ANZAC day here in Australia, I'd like to think we can remember those too who've recently lost their lives with this awful pandemic. Lots of Aussie gathered on their driveways with candles, red poppies and flags this morning at dawn - it was a wonderful idea with the social gatherings banned. Have a wonderful day, stay safe, hugs Robyn
These poppies are gorgeous Bonnie and love the way you have dragged the colour in and masked to place a third flower, and finished with that soft bit of background colour and some pretty spattering too. The first time we visited our son in Sydney we were their on ANZAC Day and normally they would have a big parade through the streets, obviously not this year, and they all wear a sprig of rosemary which was something I wasn't aware of. x
Hi friend, this is beautiful, you still have the magic touch...so happy to see you making cards! I hope your family is well and you are safe in your community. I think for us stampers, it is not such a bad thing to be asked to stay home...guilt free playing time, right? Heart hugs, Col
Beautiful poppies. Love the way you did them with the distress ink cubes. VERY pretty Bonnie.

So pretty. Beautifully watercolored. You do the background wash so well. Love those splatters.
Beautiful watercolouring Bonnie, your background is spectacular with the watercolour wash and the splatters :)
Beautiful poppies Bonnie - Love how you use this wonderful water colour technique to create such a stunning effect.
Thank you for the mention of ANZAC day. I have a (large paper)poppy in my window. I did not get up early for the dawn "stand in remembrance", but I am thankful for the sacrifice of those who fought for the freedoms we now enjoy - and for those on the current frontlines!
Stay safe
Blessings
Maxine

What a touching card this is and so beautifully done. I love the color you got and the splatters are so well done. Mine are always so blotchy .
Beautiful card, Bonnie. I got goose bumps when you said it is to also honor those serving to keep us safe during this pandemic. THANK YOU!
What a beautiful poppy design as a tribute, Bon! It's thoughtful and appreciated! Take care and keep safe! Hugs, Dolly
Gorgeous, Bonnie, I just adore those poppies and the water color look as a whole! I cannot "do" those loose water color looks and yours just looks fantastic!
Such a beautiful tribute to those who risk their lives to keep the rest of us safe. Those poppies look amazing Bonnie and the background is fabulous too. Vicky x
Lovely tribute with your gorgeous watercoloured poppies, Bonnie. Love soft wash and splatters in the background. xx
Good Lord Child - you are amazing Bonnie -- I love watching your blog. It is so interesting to hear how you accomplish your art work. I only wish you had a You Tube channel.
Looking forward to the day when I can get my hair cut again and I am sure the young woman who cuts my hair looks forward to being able to work again. My heart goes out to the people whose income has completely stopped. And all the people who are sick with this virus. Being 75 years old and having had asthma all my life, I do not go out in public at all. I am looking forward to walking on the beach.
Look at all those badges running down the right side of your blog and here I thought you were a well kept secret. If you hear a strange noise in the background, that is me doubled up laughing!

Absolutely beautiful Bonnie! Your water coloring on those poppies is FABULOUS and I love your light water color wash on the background too! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Gorgeous thoughtful watercolored poppies card, Bonnie. Thank you for sharing your technique. Stay safe and creative, my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy
Such a poignant and beautiful water coloured card, which really should be framed x. Stay safe and well x
The poppies are beautiful, Bonnie, but it was that fabulous washed and splattered background that caught my attention. I'm trying to be sparse with my splatters but in this case more is better.
Beautifully watercolored poppies, Bonnie! I love the soft wash background with fine splatter as much as the flowers. Simply fabulous!

Beautiful poppies, beautiful wash in the background. How nice to make a card inspired by ANZAC Day - I always forget they have that day at a totally different time to our Remembrance Day.
Wonderful remembrance card. Love your coloring and masking. Thanks for sharing this over at The Fusion Card Challenge.
Total work of art - beautiful!
Love, love, love this, Bonnie! Glad you played with us at Krafty Chics this week. I miss our crafty visits! Hope you and Bruce are doing ok. I will email you shortly! HUGS! xx
Poppies are perfect. I love the loosely painted blooms ...this looks like a painting. The whole card is harmonious, so well done. Beautiful!
You managed to capture the delicacy of poppies, for which I love them so much. This is another of your cards that cannot be forgotten. Stunning !!
