Three Poppies

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

April 25th is ANZAC day in Australia and New Zealand.
It's a day to remember those "who served and died in all wars, conflict and
peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and
suffering of all those who have served". Wikipedia

I'd also like to honor those who are serving during this
COVID-19 pandemic so we can stay safe at home.

Poppies stand for remembrance

I place the poppy outline stamp in my MISTI and inked with Distress mini ink cubes
and markers, pulling the color with a waterbrush then restamping until I was happy with the results.

After stamping a second poppy, I masked the flower to stamp the third.

Finally, I did a wash using wet on wet technique and added some splatter.

Challenges:
Fusion Challenge: Let Us Remember (inspired by the poppies in the picture)

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Bonnie this is just beautiful... I love everything about it. Co-incidentally I've just made a poppy card to in Rememberance of the fallen as we celebrate ANZAC day here in Australia, I'd like to think we can remember those too who've recently lost their lives with this awful pandemic. Lots of Aussie gathered on their driveways with candles, red poppies and flags this morning at dawn - it was a wonderful idea with the social gatherings banned. Have a wonderful day, stay safe, hugs Robyn

These poppies are gorgeous Bonnie and love the way you have dragged the colour in and masked to place a third flower, and finished with that soft bit of background colour and some pretty spattering too. The first time we visited our son in Sydney we were their on ANZAC Day and normally they would have a big parade through the streets, obviously not this year, and they all wear a sprig of rosemary which was something I wasn't aware of. x

Hi friend, this is beautiful, you still have the magic touch...so happy to see you making cards! I hope your family is well and you are safe in your community. I think for us stampers, it is not such a bad thing to be asked to stay home...guilt free playing time, right? Heart hugs, Col

Beautiful poppies Bonnie - Love how you use this wonderful water colour technique to create such a stunning effect.
Thank you for the mention of ANZAC day. I have a (large paper)poppy in my window. I did not get up early for the dawn "stand in remembrance", but I am thankful for the sacrifice of those who fought for the freedoms we now enjoy - and for those on the current frontlines!
Stay safe
Blessings

Good Lord Child - you are amazing Bonnie -- I love watching your blog. It is so interesting to hear how you accomplish your art work. I only wish you had a You Tube channel.
Looking forward to the day when I can get my hair cut again and I am sure the young woman who cuts my hair looks forward to being able to work again. My heart goes out to the people whose income has completely stopped. And all the people who are sick with this virus. Being 75 years old and having had asthma all my life, I do not go out in public at all. I am looking forward to walking on the beach.

Look at all those badges running down the right side of your blog and here I thought you were a well kept secret. If you hear a strange noise in the background, that is me doubled up laughing!

The poppies are beautiful, Bonnie, but it was that fabulous washed and splattered background that caught my attention. I'm trying to be sparse with my splatters but in this case more is better.

Beautiful poppies, beautiful wash in the background. How nice to make a card inspired by ANZAC Day - I always forget they have that day at a totally different time to our Remembrance Day.
