Seaside Wishes

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

A very new purchase worked perfectly for a favorite challenge.

I found an aqua color background that was made from smooshing mixed media paper into
Gansai Tambi watercolors and water.  I used a new embossing folder to add "waves"
into the background.

This set comes with stamps, dies and an embossing folder.

I stamped the sand dollars with Sahara Sand ink, die cut them then fitted them
inside the embossing folder.  The texture is awesome and makes them look almost real!

I stamped the starfish with VersaFine and heat embossed it with white powder.
Then I tucked it inside the edges of the embossing folder to get some texture on him.

I also die cut the sea grass and whatever that other thing is??? to tuck behind
the sand dollars.  I used a thumb dauber that had some leftover pool party ink on it
to add just a hint of color on the grass.

It doesn't show, but the sand dollars are covered in Wink of Stella for some sparkle.

A gold embossed sentiment that was fussy cut and some glass "bubbles"
finished the card.

Challenges:
Can You Handle the Pressure - ATG with dry embossing
Color Hues #90 - White and Aqua (good beachy colors)
Double D - Nautical
NBUS #64 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Your sand dollars and starfish do look real. The lacy thing is pretty too. They all look great on that lovely smooshed background. Wonderful beachy card.

Your sand dollars look just like ones we used to pick up on the beach years ago, Bonnie. Your card is lovely and has such a serene feel to it.

That's just gorgeous, love the embossed background, and wow, I would think the sand dollars are real if I didn't read that you stamped them! Thanks for sharing with us at Can You Handle the Pressure.

WOW! This is stunning. As for the sand dollar? I had never heard of it, so had to look online to see if we had them in the UK, seems we do. I must be more vigilant on the sea shore!

And that card looks even more gorgeous in person perched upon my craftroom door card holder! Thank you! I also may have ordered that set when I got home (and perhaps the Betterpress too). LOL I love those sand dollars. Thoroughly enjoyed our crafty catch up day too. Definitely won't be 8 months again. Hugs! Nance

Fun card and pretty scene, Bonnie! I can't imagine an embossing folder that embosses the elements (as opposed to the whole card base) but sounds like a wonderful idea.

A fabulous sea inspired card with the pretty waves embossing in the background and then the different added die cuts, and made even lovelier with the added embossing to give them some texture to the starfish and sand dollar, and love the added sparkle too Bonnie. x

Been playing catch up today. We were out of town again. Starting with your calendar I love that stamp so beautifully colored. The tri bloom card uses one of my favorite diecuts and Inever thought to color them, so thanks for the inspiration. The green tree is a gorgoeus image and the texture and layers you added are fabulous. Your fourth card is an explosion of color and perfect. The heart on your Christmas card is so sweet...lovely design. ANd this card...seeing so many cards using this set and each one is lovely --yours is a standout.

Bonnie, I'm sorry to be so far behind in my visiting. All due to home circumstances which I hope to explain later. Please know I've visited every post (a lot) since the last time I was here and I can never get over the beauty and fun of your cards. I'm quite taken with this arrangement and the soft colors. Perfect for our challenge at Double D!
