A Note to Say Hello

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I was able to use several NBUS on this card.
I'd been eyeing these edger dies at Penny Black and added one
with the companion stamp set to my Christmas present.

It's taken a while to use it, but I have things in the NBUS box that
have been in there longer.

I'm sure you understand (wink).

I had used the other stamp in this set for this card and I wanted to use this stamp
before I put the set on the shelf.  Sometimes when I try to watercolor roses,
I end up with a mess.  So I stamped and heat embossed before coloring.

The small points on these markers made it easy to put a swipe at the bottom of
each petal and blend the color out with water.  The embossing kept the color from
bleeding into the next petal.  I really like the way it turned out.

I die cut the roses with the companion die set and die cut the edger.
The sentiment was stamped on a snippet strip and woven in.  It's not an original
idea.  I think Jill Foster had done one this way.

and a twofer.....

I had an extra rose bud from the first Winsomely card and made a home for it.

I have those Arteza markers, and never did I get results as beautiful as you have with your lovely roses, Bonnie! The embossing gives those layers such wonderful highlights - and never have I ever seen the 'woven'' sentiment strip - so clever!
I'm happy that your sweet little single rose found such a wonderful home, too!

Both cards are amazing! None of those markers here, but I find it extremely difficult to blend out reds but your coloring is amazing, Bonnie. Both cards are so beautiful.

Two absolutely beautiful cards Bonnie! I too had looked at those PB edger dies, but never did put any in my cart...now I'm wondering why?!! Your roses are absolutely beautiful on both cards and I'm loving the way you wove the sentiment strip through the edger die too! Lovely, lovely cards my friend and a perfect way to start my Monday!! Hugs. :0)

The edge die is so unique and your watercolor made gorgeous flowers. I love that double frame die and how you used it to make a lovely home for the rosebud.

Your coloring is lovely on those beautiful roses and I like the way you wove the sentiment in the edger die. Fabulous card. Then I saw you second card and it is fabulous also. Love the sentiment, the frames and that lovely rosebud. Two beautiful cards my friend.

I love the shape of this with the lovely die cut sentiment as part of the topper, and the white embossed roses have been beautifully coloured Bonnie, and I love the contrast of the dark green dry embossed base layer. The second card using the red single rosebud looks wonderful too with the terrific double frame and the lovely added words, and also a pretty butterfly. x

Two beautiful cards, Bonnie. I love the look of your roses, the coloring is perfect. Very interesting adding of sentiment in the first card. I love both cards, my dear Bonnie.

You should teach us all about finding homes for our orphans, Bon! You always seem to find ways to use your BOB that looks like what you intended from the beginning! I love your earlier rosebud design and now this leftover one and I'm in awe of the coloring you did on the bouguet. The word edge and intertwined sediment are so unique. Thank you for linking again to NBUS and using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar to motivate others!📌 Hugs, Dolly

Oh, my! Your watercoloring is gorgeous and I absolutely LOVE your NBUS combo on the first card. Wow! The green and pink is so pretty, and I do love the note die and stamp set. I think I've only used it once, shame on me. I love the way you inserted the stamped part of the sentiment. I don't remember seeing Jill do that, but it's pretty nifty and I'm making a note. Beautiful second card, too, with the framing and the rose and the large meaningful words. Can't miss the sweet butterfly playing its part. Great stuff, Bonnie!

I've never looked at the Arteza markers but might have to as you got fabulous results with them - wonderful shading! Love your new edger die! Such fun to use several NBUS on one card!

Your roses are noteworthy, Bonnie. LOL The single rose with the sentiment makes a beautiful wedding or anniversary card.

Loving your note card with the gorgeous edger die. It's adorable with the "just a ... to say hello" tucked in around it. Your roses are gorgeous!! You might see something similar in a few days from me as I just need to write the post. Great minds think alike. Love this stamp set! Sweet second card with another beautiful rose! xx
