Irises for Color Hues

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

Time for another challenge at Color Hues.

This time the super talented Karen chose the colors.

I just so happened to have a NBUS die that worked great for these colors.

I die cut the irises from mixed media paper and watercolored by smooshing ink
on a palette and picking up the color with a waterbrush.

To add the same colors on the background, I laid the die cuts on another piece
of mixed media paper and colored outside the die cuts a bit.

Our amazing teammates are sure to inspire you with their fantastic
creations and we are joined this month by the equally talented Rachel.

I hope you'll check us out and join in at Color Hues.
This challenge ends May 29th at 9:00 AM EDT.

Card Recipe
Stamps:  Airy Greetings (SSS)
Ink:   Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, Pretty in Pink (SU), Old Paper (DI)
Paper:   Mixed Media (Strathmore), Neenah Solar White, Grout Gray (MFT)
Other:  Layered Iris die (SB), Simply Succulents die (ret SU), Pierced Blanket Cover Die (Picket Fence)

Enjoy!

Those iris do work beautifully for the colors, Bonnie, and your watercoloring makes them appear translucent just like real iris. Beautiful card, my friend!!!

These irises are soooo pretty growing up the front of your card! I love the pierced background and the way you used the die to guide your background color. That's a very cute little label die, too!

Those irises are so pretty in the pink and plum. Love how you did the background with the die cuts and the same inks, so pretty.

Beautiful take on the challenge.

The irises are beautiful in pink and plum Bonnie, and the transfer of colour from the die cut onto the background works brilliantly and I love the pierced diamond design of the cover plate die you used over it, and a lovely sentiment strip to finish. x

Love iris and yours are such a pretty take on the colours. The cover die you've used is the perfect backdrop, softened with the watercolour. :)

I can't imagine how many flower dies you have, Bonnie.😆 It seems like a lot but perhaps I do too. It is hard to judge when you don't use them all the time. LOL Such a beautiful card.

The smooshing technique worked well for coloring your irises. Pink and plum never looked so good! Since you and Michele F shared these blooms, I may have to look into them as well!

I'm quite sure I've never seen more beautiful "smooshed coloring" than what you've achieved with the stunning iris. These dies are going on my wish list for sure. I love the soft, feminine look of your card! Thanks for making Pink and Plum look like one fabulous color combo!

Warning - don't make the mistake of drinking wine while looking at this card. I did and I thought the flowers were dancing!! Well they are dancing aren't they Bonnie?
