Hi there. I'm so glad you stopped by!
It's strawberry season around here. Fresh strawberries are always
welcome in our house and we've been eating a lot of them lately.
It reminded me of a die set that had been in my NBUS box for a couple of years.
My talented friend Leslie enabled me to buy this set when I saw
her strawberry card back in 2023.
I die cut from mixed media paper and watercolored using Stampin' Up ink pads.
I squished the color in the lid and picked it up with my waterbrush to color.
After it was dry, I used a white gel pen for the seeds and let that dry, then
touched it with a Neon Yellow Sharpie.
A little sponging with darker ink around the edges gave them some depth.
I had an embossed piece left from this card and used the same sketch.
This time I used a hexagon die cut instead of a circle and the vines instead of
that scallop strip. I hope it's okay to take some liberties with the sketch.

Tom has been bringing home strawberries from the grocery store in droves - 3 for $5 this week! Not one of them is any prettier than these you've colored, Bonnie! What a wonderful way to put that Sketch to use!

Strawberries already, lucky you, about a month to go before we have them locally. Gorgeous summery card, thanks so much for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge.

Your strawberries look good enough to eat. Although it is fun to see your creations - it's very interesting when you talk about techniques and/or products I have no knowledge of. Neon yellow Sharpie? Never heard of such a thing. The textured back ground reminds me of a wafer sugar cookie.

No local strawberries here till mid June, but the shipped in ones from California haven't been too bad lately! Your deep red ones make me think of our local ones though that are SO sweet and juicy...yummmm!! Your card is just delicious Bonnie and colored beautifully! Love it!! Hugs. :0)
I eat strawberries every morning with my non-dairy yogurt, and they are so good even if not locally grown. Yours are locally made and look every bit as good as the ones I eat, Bonnie.
I dipped some in chocolate this weekend! Love the pop of deep red from your yummy looking berries. This is a delightful card, Bonnie!
First, I'm jealous that you are in strawberry season already! The ones on your card certainly look delicious and good enough to eat, Bon! I love the way you used the sketch to add wonderful texture! Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS and for using this week's I.D.E.A.S. Calendar and linking to the gallery to motivate others!📌Hugs, Dolly
A Yummy card. x
They look good enough to eat. Sweet and juicy. I am looking forward to my first strawberry of the season. It is still a little early here xx
Beautiful dark water coloring on your strawberries and leaves Bonnie - lovely texture added with your embossed panel on the side! Thanks for sharing with us at Inkspirational: Seasonal! Julia xx
Oooh, strawberries! I love when they come into season here and I get them from the local farmers' market, plus our neighbor friend likes to share. You did an amazing job coloring your strawberries, and the sketch looks perfect! I'm happy to have enabled you because this set really is nice. You've enabled me a time or two (or more) as well!
Delicious looking card!
Thank you for joining us and playing the theme at Allsorts!
This is wonderful! The way you've used the flourish for the sketch element is so clever and the strawberries look so realistic! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
A wonderful (and yummy!) take on the sketch! Your strawberry is so beautifully colored and I love how you used that hexagon for a bit of interest!
This is such a cute card with the sketch this week. Your coloring is beautiful. Thank you for sharing at FMS.
Yummy and beautiful! Love the texture, which adds so much, as does the scroll (or strawberry vine, as my eye sees it)
Yummy strawberries, Bonnie. A sure sign that summer is almost here. :) Lovely card, my friend. xx
wonderful yummy strawberries, they really do say summer is coming :)
These strawberries look very tasty. I am glad that you can now buy fresh strawberries, which are aromatic and sweet. Strawberries and cherries are my winter longings.
