Layered Scene with Alcohol Ink

Hello friends.  I'm glad you could stop by!

More cards for The Twofer Challenge.

This time I used a die set with birds.

Onefer....

I love this die set and have used both pieces today.

I have some alcohol inked backgrounds in my stash
and used one as a backing for the dies.

I adhered the foliage die directly on the alcohol ink piece.

Die cutting the frame and foam was tricky and took more than a few
tries and choice words, but finally fit together.

Then the bird die cut was fitted into the frame.
(It's a hair larger than the frame.)

I love the 3D look and this is one of my favorite sentiments that's
a good way to say Thinking of You.

Twofer....

This time I die cut the die with the birds from Mixed Media paper
and watercolored the die cut with Distress ink.

When the coloring was dry, I snipped the birds and branch from the frame
and mounted them with some circle die cuts on some patterned paper.

I used a NBUS frame and sentiment so I'll pop over to
the NBUS challenge.

Challenges:
Twofer - Birds
NBUS - Never Before Used Schtuff (Peek-a-boo Window Frame)

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Two lovely bird cards. I like the blue background on the second card and how you snipped the birds to place in the peek-a-boo frame. Your alcohol inked background is lovely on the first card. TFS

Two beautiful Twofer cards Bonnie and looking so different. I love the pretty blue and green AIs you have used as a background, with the terrific double layered die and background in white which works brilliantly, and then the wonderful bright blue as a background to just the two sweet little birds on the two layered circles, so prettily coloured, and some lovely added foliage as well as a super sentiment. x

The die allows you to make whatever bird you want and yours look good whether left as a white silhouette or watercolored, Bonnie.

Two FABULOUS cards Bonnie! I love that die you used...it is SO pretty with the two layers, and well worth the time and effort it took to get it all to fit perfectly together! That AI background and the wonderful sentiment are all perfect fits for this card! Your 2nd card is just as beautiful with the 2 birds snipped out from the frame to create a whole new look and I love, LOVE that bold blue card base you popped them onto. Two lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

Both are gorgeous, and kudos for cutting foam! I find it too fidgety for my timeline... I adore both those sentiments tho -- great ones indeed

Two fabulous bird cards, Bonnie! You did such an amazing job of showing us how you can stretch the use of the bird (layered scene) dies! Love the 3D-look silhouette scene against the AI background. The sentiment is so good too. And of course your watercolored birds of the second card are so lovely! The blue textured card base is fresh and beautiful!

These are both beautiful, Bon! You put so much thought and care into each well-placed element on your cards, which is helpful to me. For instance I love how you tucked those sprigs behind your scalloped circle on your birthday card. Great additional interest and so smart! (I am going to type up that Onefer sediment in a large font, frame it, and hang it on my wall!) Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell
