Balloon for Twofer

Hi there.

I know some of you are having horrible weather.
Wish you could be here with me.

Today I'm playing at the Twofer Challenge #14

I don't have a lot of balloon stamps but I have some dies and punches.

I used this die from Simon Says Stamp for both my cards.

For the first card, I die cut the balloon from a snippet of Alcohol Inked background,
cut across the bottom so it wouldn't roll over, placed it on the table and watercolored
this pretty flower die cut that had been sent to me in a package of fun goodies
from a sweet, dear friend.

For my twofer, I  die cut the balloon from a snippet of
Inka Gold Smoosh background, added some gold twine so it
wouldn't float into outer space and popped it on an embossed piece
that I found in my UFO box.  I used the stamps from the coordinating
set for the sentiment.

Since I used some snippets, I'm going over for a quick play at

I think I'll go enjoy the sunshine before the cold returns.

Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments.

Enjoy!

Your two pretty cards will bring sunshine to those you aren't getting it right now, Bonnie! I love that you cut both balloons from your gorgeous snippets, making them the stars of both designs! Then you used two fantastic e/fs to add the perfect interest! That sweet coneflower fits like a glove in your trimmed balloon vase on your clever thank you card! And I love the font of your sentiment and the simple gold cord on your birthday card! Thank you so much for playing in Twofer Card Challenge #14! Hugs, Darnell

Great minds, Bonnie. I pulled out some inked snippets for my balloons too although I wasn't clever enough to make one into a vase like you did. The embossing adds great texture on both cards.

I would have never thought to make a vase out of a balloon. Now that is clever! Love that you were able to use those beautiful snippets you already had. Love how clean these cards are. The background embossing is just a pretty backdrop for your designs.

While other parts of the state have been hit hard with tons of snow, SE Wisconsin isn't too bad. In fact, most of our snow has melted!! I've even got some very brave daffodils peeking up already. Your cards are amazing, Bonnie. I love the embossed backgrounds you've used on your cards, and the colors are just right. Sweet thank you card with a very clever vase!! Never thought of that! Pretty, happy flower too. I love the CAS look you've gone with for your birthday card. That balloon is amazing!! Well done on both cards! Thanks so much for joining us at the Twofer Challenge! Bev

Beautiful cards, Bonnie. Amazing how you can make balloons cards that are elegant. You are so talented, my friend! The colour of the balloons is gorgeous ... love the deep, bright blue. Your single balloon is so sweet, and the little flower in the balloon vase is darling! Looking at these cards makes me happy. :) xx

Oh, stop, that balloon makes a perfect vase and a mighty darn pretty one, too! Wish I'd thought of that, but I'll just have to make one later. So many great ideas for this challenge! I absolutely love the simplicity of your cards. You're so good at CAS! Flawless! Thanks for playing along with us at Twofer, Bonnie!

How cute to make that vase from a balloon. I love the one happy balloon with it's beautiful colors flying along with birthday wishes. The vase is so clever and the flower is a perfect fit. Great embossed background for the birthday card.

Brilliant Balloon Vase! I do love every detail, from the the various colouring approaches to their compositions. Great gold string addition to the balloon, the perfect accent to tie the sentiment in.
Dry embossing does add a lot. Beautiful xx

What a gorgeous vase you made of that delicious balloon, Bonnie ... the depth of colour on it is fabulous ... perfect with that sweet yellow bloom! Love the shimmer on your celebratory birthday ballon ... doesn't a touch of glitz and glamour add that certain something to a festive occasion! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Your balloons are both perfect snippet creations! I love that you leveled out the base of the vase - I would hate for that to topple over and shatter! Your gold balloon string is a great addition to your birthday balloon! Thanks for joining in the fun with us at the Twofer Card Challenge!
