This month's zoom session was a fun one.
We stamped and embossed on colored cardstock and did some ink blending around the edges.
We started with a similar color as the cardstock and used darker shades toward the edge,
ending with black on the very edge.
My first attempt was a bust. I'm not sure I can even salvage it.
But I was happy with this one.
I added a little bit of ink in the center of the flowers.
While I was at it...
I stamped this Penny Black stamp and embossed in white on a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock.
After brushing color around the edges and in the trees, I added some Chunky White Frantage
and heated from the back to add more snow. A torn paper snowbank and little bird show
off the sentiment.
Then I did another and split it for two card fronts....
There was a spot that missed the stamping and embossing and some ugly splatter blotches
on this piece. So I found a snippet of card and added a bit of ink left on my blending brush.
It made a perfect place to pop my die cut and bit of stamping for a sentiment.

This time I used a strip of vellum and a foiled sentiment.

Beautiful and varied samples here Bonnie! So pretty with the stamps and colors that you used - I especially love the let it snow one with the snow flurrying around the white trees and your town snow ground! Lovely inspiration for this fun technique! xx

Your first attempt may have been a bust but I’d say you mastered the technique on these cards! What a fantastic effect with the sponging on colored cardstock. This looks SO fun to do and love the stamps you chose too. I do have that tree stamp so I may give this a try! Thanks for the inspiration.
Good Fathers! You are really on a roll!!! When you post multiple cards, I feel it my duty to pick out which one I like the best. Not a hard decision for me, I like the "Let it Snow" card especially with the punch of red.

I would be tired if I mad that many cards and my studio would definitely be turned upside down.

WOW, WOW, WOW!! All four of these cards are AMAZING Bonnie! Such depth of color just from adding more ink to darken up the edges of the colored cardstock...LOVE it and will definitely have to try this out! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

These are gorgeous and all so different. The snow covered trees are my favorite although it is hard to pick out a favorite.

Amazing what some heat embossing and ink blending can do isn't it, Bonnie? All of your cards are wonderful but the one with the little cardinal is my favorite. A bright spot in an otherwise snowy day.
All beautiful. This spotlight ink blending technique is one of my favourites… so easy yet impactful.
Four brilliant makes Bonnie, and I love the bit of added white ink on the first which really highlights the flowers, and the three seasonal makes are all so pretty..the trees and falling snow with the sweet bright red bird, and then the snowflakes and lots of wonderful mats and layers and 3D embossing. x

Oh, I love the purple, and then my heart melted at the beautiful Penny Black snow scene. Gorgeous snowflake cards, too. I'm really loving the look of this technique. You chose perfect stamps for it.
