I have a new die...
and with the Color Hues challenge being yellow and green (two of my favorite colors),
I Googled to see if magnolias came in yellow. They do.
So I die cut the flowers and branch from mixed media paper and used Distress Markers
and my waterbrush to color all the pieces.
When coloring the leaves and flowers, I laid the pieces on another piece of mixed
media paper and did a sloppy watercoloring going over the edges onto the
piece in the background. It gives an interesting background and the colors are perfect.
Then I looked at all those pieces and was stumped as to where they all went.
Fortunately there are some illustrations online that act as a roadmap and I've
got to say that although these flowers are pretty without all the extra little pieces, they are
amazing with them. And I was quite proud of myself that I could find all the pieces!

You did an amazing job with all those pieces to make this beautiful card. I like how you did the background also. Love your card.
I could see all the little pieces on your card and had to look up the die. I don't know how you figured out how they all went together but they are gorgeous magnolias, Bonnie. That is such a good way to add color to the background and I never think to do it.

Ohhhh, this is so gorgeous, Bonnie! I'm sure glad magnolias come in yellow because yours are beautiful. I have the trio and many other parts of this Magnolia release that I haven't used yet. After figuring out the first flower I'm hoping the rest will be easier. You did such an amazing job with the watercolor, the background, and the composition! Absolutely gorgeous card--those dies are fabulous! We live near a park with a large magnolia collection. Several of them are yellow magnolias and they are as beautiful as your paper ones! No one colors die cuts better than you. I had a hard time working on small pieces but yours is outstanding. Love the beautiful blending you did on these. Super card!
Yellow magnolias are my favourite. They are like vanilla pudding. Your magnolias are beautiful, exactly as I remember them.
