Autumn Leaves for JUGS

Hi there.  I'm so glad you stopped by!

I'm here with Just Us Girls again.
I am really enjoying guesting with this team!

This week we have a photo to be inspired by.

The leaves are beginning to show some color here.  I haven't seen anything as bright
as the leaves on this card yet.  Hopefully we will see some bright colors soon.

I used my favorite background trick and watercolored my die cut leaves on a
piece of Neenah letting the color run off,

When the leaves were dry, I used watercolor pencils to add some details, then
glued on the background leaving some of the leaves loose for dimension.

Adding the die cut sentiment in dark red accented the leaves beautifully, IMO.

I hope you'll hop on over to Just Us Girls and see what they've come up with.
Then come join in at the challenge.

What a perfect take on the inspiration photo! Love the technique of letting the watercolour run off the die cut to make the background. I must try that.

I may have to share a photo of our Flowering Crab next to our porch, Bonnie - you've nailed it on your card today!
Nobody does that technique as beautifully as you do, my friend! What a gorgeous card!
Hope you have some wonderful Autumn color soon!

Bonnie... great technique, am going to give that a try! Love the card and I hope you get to see some beautiful color soon. Now that I live in Florida, I miss the leaves changing but not the cold weather. So thrilled to have you as a guestie!

We're still a little too warm here for the changing of colors on the leaves but I do love looking at your card and seeing them. Beautiful card Bonnie.

Clever background idea! Your leaves are gorgeous and you are right about the red sentiment adding so much to the card!!! Amazing card Bonnie!

Why do I never try that trick? It always looks so fabulous when you do it, Bonnie, and it gives dimension to the card just like leaving leaves unglued does. And the color is beautiful.

This is gorgeous, Bonnie! Your leaves are just beautiful. I was really hoping to get away to see some fall foliage but things got in the way. Maybe next year. We had some cooler temps this week, but I think it will be short lived and back to 86 next week.

A stunning card Bonnie - love your use of the inspiration photo, and the deep coloured stems and sentiment are the perfect foil for the airy leaves.
